  An Ass is Born
Last Friday, the clones had our first training session of the season. This of course consisted of sitting around at the Mad Raven Tavern in Waltham and drinking Guinness and talking about cycling. There was of course still the traditional group shower after. The get together WAS actually productive; it looks like an Ass Name for Kelly has indeed be decided on. She will hence forth be know as... UberAss!

  The Slug of Me
Mental energy, it's a funny thing. It's what we need to solve problems, hold a meaningful conversation, be creative or just give a rat's ass about anything other than being a slug. It's what I've been sorely lacking of late; thus no posts. I've just been in a terrible funk that I just can't seem to shake.

Anyway, for better or worse, I'm back and will attempt to make some sense of it all...

What I like to Refer to as Answers
OK folks here are some answers to some questions from the ol' mail bag...or ...whatever....

Rockmuncher recommends:

Movie: Bad Boy Bubby (just tough out the first 20 mins)
Looked it up on IMDB and it looks pretty weird...Translate: I'll probably love it.

Book: "Bike Fit" by Arnie Baker MD, download from www.roadbikerider.com
I'll Head over and check this out

Music: SHIHAD - Pacifier http://www.hmv.com.au/product/rockpop.asp?sku=841154
Never heard of SHIHAD but I'm always into checking out new bands, I'll make sure and check this one out pronto.
3Q's:

What's your favourite bike?

Being a hard core roadie this is of course going to be a road bike. My favorite right now, the Cervelo Soloist Team. After taking one of these bad boy out for a test ride last summer, I can't think about anything else.

Who's your favourite rider?

Hmmm..tough one. Besides the obvious Lance and Tyler, I'd have to say the guy that most impressed me last year was Thomas Voeckler (Fra) of the Brioches La Boulangere squad. I wager we'll see alot more of him in years to come.

What is it that you can't live in, but can't live without it in you?

I'm not sure exactly how to answer this one RM. The first part I'll have to answer "Cardboard Box"....Defiantly can't live in one of those; my bike won't fit. For the second part I'd have to say any beverage from Starbucks; take that away and what your left with is a withered sleepy zombie type dude with no will to live.

Next Jam Master J, the Jackhammer o' Love writes:

Dear StrongBad....ooops, wrong email :)

(A)
1 - Kind Hearts and Coronets.(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0041546/) Really amazingly cool. Alec Guinness when he was young.

Young Alec Guinness! I'm in...I mean his name has Guinness in it!! Wonder if he invented the stuff?
2 - Camoflage by Joe Haldeman. It's by Joe Haldeman, author of the Forever War. It rocks.

Does Joe Haldeman drink Guinness? If so I'll defiantly read his book..otherwise, we'll see.

3 - Well, it's all mainstream and everything, but believe it or not, Avril Lavigne's latest is actually really good. No Pop Queen, this kid is a young, up and coming Alanis Morrisette.

I belief that this is a good album but in the end it doesn't matter what kind of music she puts out, I'll listen to it because I want to be her Man Bitch.

(B)
1 - How many degrees bend?
Sorry Jam Master but the able member of my staff who handles protractor duty is out on sick leave.

2 - Explain again how the Anti-Christ is a pastry?

OK but this is the last time I do this for you for free:
The Opposite of God Is the Devil. The other opposite of god (spelled backwards) is Dog. If you combine these two aspects (come on, I know you want to) you get Devil Dog. Devil Dog, as we all know, is a delicious treat or pastry. THUS: The Anti-Christ is a Pastry.

3 - Viper or Corvette?

Oh, now your gonna make me choose? I'm gonna have to go with Viper. Vette has all that mystique and all, but Viper has....say it with me.....Sack and a Half.

Next my favorite Blogonatrix, Cindy Lou has this to say:

Movie: Napoleon Dynamite. Had it recommended to me and I absolutely loved it. Funny as hell.

I Keep hearing about this one so I'll have to put it on my Netfix list.

CD: Donavon Frankenreiter. I have completely fallen in love with this CD over the past 3 days. I haven't stopped listening to it. Mellow, guy with a guitar sound.

I'll head over to iTunes and see if I can locate this guy(I heard he hang out there sometimes). I defiantly dig the whole singer/songwriter trip.

Book: Life of Pi. I'm not even finished with it yet and I love it.

Just checked this out on Amazon, look very cool, I'll put it on the list.

1. Which would you give up first, sex or biking?

Aren't you being redundant here CL..because umm...like they're the same thing, right?

2. Meat on a stick, yes or no?

Dumb Stick - Yes. Meat on a stick - No. Being a vegetarian I can say this and not feel too silly.

3. What is the most embarrassing nickname ever bestowed upon you?

What would ever make you think I'd ever get embarrassed? I mean come on me, who moons trucks from an over pass on the Mass Pike; me who ran through the streets of Andover MA naked on a hot July night howling at the full moon (well. there was tequila involved there)? Oh wait now that I think of it, I had a nickname when I used to work in a warehouse many moons ago that used to annoy me, and if I called that name infront of real people (as opposed to the ones I worked with) I guess I would have been embarrassed. This guy there used to call me PW; short for Pecker Wood. Thanks for digging that up again for me, my therapist will be sending you the bill :)

That's it for this round..keep'em comin' folks.....
