Looking Back and Forth
Wow, so here it is almost October! That means that if the weather cooperates, we may have seven or eight weeks of good cycling left before snow becomes inevitable.....Bah! I say !! BAH!! It's been a great season though; so far I've logged over 1700 miles and raised almost $4,000 for charity.
This past weekend, Buzz and I did the
Granite State Wheelman's 31st annual Tri -Coast Century (Little J Opted for the metric century). The route had a lot in common with Seacoast Safari ride we did in August. It started at Hampton Beach State Park in NH, looped south through Newburyport MA, back through New Hampshire then up through Maine to York Beach before returning to Hampton. This was the second century I've done this year and next Saturday I'm going for three.
This Thursday, the Clones fly west to San Diego to do our last charity ride of the the year, the MS Bay to Bay 150 (see the sponsor me link to the right - yes another shameless plug!). This is a big deal to me for a few different reasons: 1. This is the first time I've been on an airplane since I was eight, so I'm a wee bit nervous 2. This is the first time I've ever been to the west coast 3. I finally get to visit two friends of mine who live in San Diego now but who I grew up with here in New England and 4. It's the last official ride of the year (blah!). After the ride D and I are going to take the rest of the week and explore the city. I'll try to post from Cali but no promises.......
Now I have to start thinking about getting that
Cyclops fluid trainer..hmmm........
P.S. New Pics soon.....
