Points on a Curve
Hi Ho, Kermit the Frog here......Ok, no so much. Now that I've had some time to catch up on sleep denied me by the god awful futon I slept on last week end on Martha's Vineyard(I awoke feeling like by body had been pummeled by a thousand tiny fists), I can get on with my life and post something.
Tour of the Vineyard:Aside from the futon on death, the first ride of the year went much better than I expected. Much to my surprise, I felt rock solid on the 55 mile ride. I even did my fair share of pulling...go figure! The only down side to the day was the temperature. You see, when we left the house to go down to the start (a 2 mile ride) the sun was out and it was cool but nice. So, I slathered on the sun screen and donned my short sleeved team jersey. As soon as we were lining up to get started, the clouds rolled in and the temp dropped about 10 degrees. By the time we were about half way through, my arms were all sorts of pink from the cold. Fortunately, we happened across a cycle shop and Ass Master Guin-Ass generously stepped up and bought me some arm warmers.
My Wrestling Career:I also had an epiphany last weekend, a moment of clarity and perhaps a glimpse into the future. The story goes like a this: Friday night, five of us who were doing the ride the next day went out to eat at the most awesome Tex Mex joint, Zapotec. We were sitting at the bar, waiting for our table. The place was packed to the gills with happy folks eating enchiladas, buritos et. al. . Eric (GP Ass) was giving me the usual ration of shit about...well....everything. He was making the wise crack that I'd some how missed my calling as a Catholic Priest. However, because of the overwhelming noise in the place what I heard was that I'd missed my calling as Captain Crease. Then It came to me, he was right! Ya..hey..wait a minute! By gum, this is my chance to make something of myself! I will dominate the wrestling world as CAPT CREASE! This is how I'll look!:)
The End of Things:On a sadder note I'm losing two constants in my life. First, this weekend marked the end of Star Trek Enterprise. Though this was not the best of the Treks nor my favorite, it was still Star Trek and thus I loved it. This will be the first time in 17 years that there will be not new Trek to look forward to. I am in mourning.
The second thing that I'm losing is my doctor. I've been seeing him for 15 years and really like him. But, he's leaving his practice to go into an administrative position. I'm gonna miss him alot
