Punk Ass: Biker, Zen Stress Monkey
It's All Math...All of It
So the dream went like this: Underlying life, the universe and everything is a giant, infinite and painfully beautiful equation. It made sense. Math is the root. We can look at and discover parts of it and they look like they 're self contained. But they're a dead ends unless seen in context with the whole. We can even compare different part we discover and get a creepy sense of Deja Vu. I saw it and it all made sense.....Then I woke up and it drifted away. As I write this I'm struggling to get my mind around it but it's almost gone......
The Suck
I've spent the last few days trying to assimilate it but I still feel like crap about it. Last Thursday the company I work for had it's third round of layoffs in three years. They've all sucked pretty bad, but this was the cruelest cut of all. Among the casualties was one of my best friends
Rogueslayer who ran our Documentation Dept. Hanging out with her was one of the only bright spots in an other wise barren landscape of corporate desolation. The thing is, there was no reason that she should have been on that list; she was doing a kick ass job, was about to get a glowing review from her boss; she had finally turned the department in to a well oiled documentation machine while being seriously understaffed; then poof - gone. It just blows. So if anyone out there knows of an opening for a kick ass tech writer, head on over to
her site and let her know. There are no doubt other stories like this one through out the company seeing as we were slashed to the bone already and now they're cutting into our core people. I don't know what these cow tipping, goat humping, jerk offs are thinking, but this is no way to run a business.
Ummmm.....No
So yesterday after my fantastic mid-day bike ride I get back to work, go to the locker room to shower, open my gym bag and there it is...NO TOWEL. Great..Just f'ing great....Now what do I do?
I have a brain flash and grab a roll of paper towels from my work's kitchen; after all they're paper TOWELS right? Well, not so much. I think paper rags may be more accurate or maybe paper water pushers. Towels? No. It took more than half the roll to get me anywhere
near dry. Never again, never never
ever again........
It's Time
Ahhhh, It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood for a bike ride, think I'll take the 'ol C'Dale out and beat the ever loving crap outa myself. Anyone care to join me? :)

It's My Party and I'll do something ass related If I Want To
Yes folks, it 's a landmark day today in Punk Ass Land; my 40th Birthday. Never thought it would come really...Silly I know. Truth be told, I really do feel a lot more on top of my shit than I did when I turned 30. So I suppose this makes me older and wiser and what not. In that vein, I thought I would look at life as I see it, and spout a little
Punk Ass Wisdom. Here, dear friends, is a list of things that I have found in my now
forty years to be true:
1. Coffee is God.
2. You owe it to your self to live as large a possible.
3. Always wipe Front to Back.
4. What ever it is, It's all in your Head.
5. There's no substitute for the
Sound of Wood.6. Attack every hill you see, you'll love yourself afterwards.
7. You must have your own personal theme song...Trust me on this.
8. Cheese is my Friend.
9. Love is the pretty illusion pulled over our eye by brain chemicals...Deal.
10. There are no Universal Truths.
